Buffer suits anyone who wants a free plan and a simple queue for TikTok business profiles next to other networks.
The best TikTok schedulers in 2026 are Publer, Later, Buffer, Refract, TikTok's own scheduler, Sprout Social, Hootsuite and Postiz. The big difference between them is how a post reaches TikTok: some publish it for you, and some send a reminder so you finish it in the TikTok app.

What stands out

  • A free plan that includes TikTok, counted as one of its 3 accounts.

Limits

  • API or MCP access on the cheapest plan: both are on Business and Enterprise only.
  • X on the free plan: X needs a paid plan.
  • Many accounts on one bill: the price grows with each account and member.

Networks

Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X (paid plans only), Threads, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Mastodon, Bluesky, Google Business, WordPress and Telegram.

Price from

4. Refract

Refract is our product.

What it is

A social media scheduler where you write one note and an AI agent for each network writes a version that fits it. You approve each version and Refract schedules it. Per-network voice rules learn from your edits, and Studio makes images and video in each network's shape.

Best for

Small teams and agencies who want TikTok posts published straight to the profile, with privacy and interaction settings set per post and an approval step.

What stands out

Direct publishing vs reminders

A TikTok scheduler can get your post onto TikTok in two ways.

  • Direct publishing: at the time you set, the tool posts the video or photos to your profile. You don't open TikTok.
  • Reminder or inbox publishing: the tool sends the post to your phone, or to your TikTok inbox, and you finish it in the TikTok app. Later and Publer say this is how you add music or a trending sound. Postiz says an inbox upload must be finished within 24 hours.

Several tools offer both. Later and Buffer say they support automatic and notification publishing for TikTok, Publer has a push-notification option in its mobile app, and Postiz lets you pick direct posting or an inbox upload. Hootsuite says TikTok sounds aren't available inside it. Refract only posts directly, through TikTok's Direct Post, so nothing waits in your TikTok inbox.

TikTok also limits how often any app can post for you. Hootsuite's help says TikTok caps an account at 15 posts in 24 hours, and that cap is shared by every tool that posts to your account.

When TikTok's own scheduler is enough

TikTok's built-in scheduler costs nothing, so try it first if you post only to TikTok. Its help article says it works on TikTok's desktop website, from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead, and it describes scheduling videos. You can delete a scheduled post but not edit it.

A separate scheduler starts to pay off when you plan further than 10 days, post photo carousels, run several accounts, need a teammate to approve posts, or post the same idea to other networks. For timing, see the best time to post on TikTok.

How we chose.

We started from schedulers whose own pages say they publish to TikTok, and from TikTok's own help center. We ranked them for people who plan TikTok posts ahead, often next to Instagram and other networks. We weighed four TikTok details: whether a tool publishes for you or sends a reminder, whether it posts photo carousels, which account types it supports, and how it handles TikTok sounds. Price, a free plan, team features, an API and an MCP server came next. Every fact about another tool comes from its own pricing page, help center or docs, listed under sources, and was checked on November 3, 2026.
Publer ranks first because its own pages cover the most TikTok cases: videos and carousels, personal and business accounts, a push-notification option, and a free plan, from $5 a month. Later comes second for creators: it auto-publishes to business accounts and offers notification publishing on every plan, but has no X and no free plan. Buffer is third, with a free plan and both publishing modes, though it lists business profiles only.
Refract sits fourth. It posts TikTok videos and photo posts directly, with privacy, interaction and disclosure settings chosen for each post, and AI writes a version for each network from one note. It has no free plan and no reminder mode for adding sounds. Coming soon: Instagram, Facebook, Threads and X. TikTok's own scheduler is fifth: free, but desktop-only, 10 days ahead at most, and limited to some accounts. Sprout Social and Hootsuite publish TikTok videos directly inside full team suites, at $99 a month per seat or more. Postiz is eighth, for technical users who want direct or inbox posting and self-hosting.
We left out tools that post to TikTok but don't say on the pages we checked whether they publish directly or by reminder: Metricool, SocialBee and SocialPilot. Sendible says it publishes TikTok videos directly to business and personal accounts, and Loomly says it publishes single videos directly and sends multi-image posts as reminders; both are worth a look if their prices suit you.

Questions and answers.

Does TikTok have a built-in scheduler?

Yes, on its desktop website. TikTok's help center says you upload a video, turn on scheduling and pick a time from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. It isn't available on TikTok's mobile website, and you can delete a scheduled post but not edit it. The article names business accounts and accounts with 10,000 or more followers.

What is the difference between direct publishing and notification publishing?

With direct publishing, the tool posts to TikTok for you at the set time. With notification publishing, it reminds you on your phone and you post in the TikTok app, which is how Later and Publer say you can add music. Later, Buffer and Publer offer both; Refract posts directly only.

Can I schedule TikTok photo posts and carousels?

With some tools. Publer schedules TikTok carousels, Sprout Social supports TikTok photo posts, and Refract schedules photo posts too. TikTok's own scheduling article only covers videos.

Is there a free TikTok scheduler?

Yes. TikTok's own scheduler is free on desktop for the accounts it covers. Publer's free plan includes TikTok as one of 3 accounts, and Buffer's free plan covers 3 channels, including TikTok business profiles. Postiz is free if you self-host it.

Can I add trending TikTok sounds when I schedule?

Usually only in the TikTok app. Later and Publer offer a notification option so you can finish the post and add music there. Hootsuite says TikTok sounds aren't available inside it.

How do I schedule TikTok posts with Refract?

Connect your TikTok account, write the post, choose who can view it and the interactions you allow, and pick a time. Refract posts it straight to your profile. The TikTok page walks through each step and the limits.
